Project Challenges:  The 6,000-seat Art Deco palace that is Radio City had not undergone a major renovation since its opening in 1932.  Over the years it had slowly become tired and faded and had not kept up with the times.  It’s NYC and Federal Landmark status required that special attention be paid to every detail of its restoration.  Cablevision understood this mission and the restoration became a labor of love.  While restoring all of the original finishes, fixtures and furniture the original mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems were brought up to the requirements of the 21st century including a state-of-the-art high definition broadcasting system.
